Frequently Asked Questions
We'll do our best to answer your most common questions here, but we can't promise we got everything! If there's a question you have that you think might be a good addition then we invite you to email to us at FAQs@RocksInTheRockies.com. We suggest that you take a look at the "Rules" page, as well as the "About" page first, because you'll find many other answers there as well.

Simple! Registered participants work to solve 15 different clues about places and things around the Pueblo area, and as they do, they can win prizes associated with each clue. Of course the goal is to win the Grand Prize, which is awarded to the FIRST person who correctly answers the final clue.

Oooh, wouldn't YOU like to know? (grin) We can't tell you EXACTLY what the Grand Prize is, but if you read through our site here, we'll tell you a few things about it. Most important is knowing that ONE of the items inclued as part of the Grand Prize is $10,000 in CASH. That amount will continue to grow as more people hjoin in the hunt, so you want your friends, family and others you know to join in, right?

Glad you asked! Each clue in the hunt comes with its own set of prizes, and these are separate from the Grand Prize. For instance, the very first clue has a prize associated with it, and everyone who correctly answers it will be entered into a random drawing for a winner.

But more than that, what if we were to tell you that your odds of winning one of these prizes goes UP every time you successfully answer another clue?

That's because the number of prixes to be won goes up with each clue. Clue #2 will have 2 prizes, clue #3 will have three prizes, and so on, all the way up to clue #14, which has 14 prizes to be awarded to randomly-drawn winners who correctly answered it. The further you go in the hunt, the better your chances of winning, not only because of the number of prizes to be awarded but because the number of people who have correctly answered that many clues will be less. In other words, more prizes being awarded to smaller groups of participants equals a better chance of winning something cool!

YES. To make the hunt fair to everyone, we require that the winner of the Grand Prize must be someone who has purchased and correctly solved all 15 clues.

Of course the next question is, what do clues cost, right? Clues are only $3.00 each, and they're purchased one at a time. And we also limit participants to purchasing no more than one clue every 24 hours. This gives more people time to join the hunt, which also means the final cash value of the Grand Prize gets bigger too.

To submit your answer to a clue, simply sign in to our site and choose the "Answer My Clue" option. You will be asked to enter your answer, and you can even upload a picture to us of the location or object the clue refers to as well, which is helpful to us when judging answers.

As soon as we review your answer, we'll send you an email and text message (if you gave us a telephone number) telling you whether it is correct. If so, you'll be able to buy the next clue in the list and continue the hunt!

As participants submit their answers, they are marked with a timestamp so that we know the precise moment when they were received. When the answer is reviewed is not important - only the timestamp of when we received it. The winner of the treasure hunt's grand prize is the first person (based on the timestamp of its receipt) who submits the correct answer to the last and final clue.

In the highly unlikely event that two or more poeple submit correct answers to the final clue at exactly the same time, the winner will be decided by random draw, to be conducted at our business offices.
